A Galactic Message?

Aligned like code flags on a cosmic ship, 12 galaxies have come together to form a message that we think might just say: “Look for advanced life here!” The image is courtesy of the Galaxy Zoo, which launched in 2007 for citizens of Earth to join in sifting through more than a million images to create an entire alphabet of galaxies. Galaxy Zoo member Steven Bamford of the University of Nottingham, UK, put them together into an online tool that lets anyone write their name in the stars.

Galaxy Zoo 2 will go live in the near future featuring a much more detailed classification system, while further off they plan GalaxyZoo 3 with lots of exciting new data. For information on how you can join the team and a newsletter go to the Galaxy Zoo website.via  Galaxy Zoo and New Scientist
